Johnson meets Varadkar in search for backstop changes

Leo Varadkar and Boris Johnson met outside Government Buildings in Dublin

Boris Johnson today met Irish PM Leo Varadkar, and set that a no-deal Brexit would be a ‘failure’ on both sides of the negotiating table. This is all part of his quest to find an imaginary alternative to the backstop and get a deal he can force through Parliament, or at least to pretend that this is his plan, since the Brexit Party will only give up in the event of no-deal.
