Hammond: Don’t “hijack” Brexit with no-deal

Philip Hammond on a visit to the UK Atomic Energy Authority

The Chancellor Philip Hammond has warned any future Tory leader againsy “knowingly inflicting” the damage of no-deal Brexit on Britain. Hammond has always been against a hard Brexit, and if a Brexiteer comes into the position of PM he can expect not to hold onto his current position. The speech to the CBI yesterday also said that the Party should not turn to the “populist right” in a quest for a new and electorally successful leader.

Gerry does have to agree with him…
