The Commons is preparing to vote tonight in a number of ballots that will hope to certify whether one Brexit option commands the support of The House. Having defeated plans in the lobbies for a second referendum, May’s deal and many others, MPs can now vote in private, which should make a tangible difference. That said, Theresa May has said that the votes are non-binding, so the government could just disregard them. Having wanted Parliament to vote for something so much, May will however come under a lot of pressure to carry out what the House wants.
