Downing Street has poured scorn on the comments of Tory pro-Brexit backbenchers who claimed that Theresa May is entering the ‘killing zone’ and advise her to ‘bring a noose’ to her next meeting with fellow Conservatives. One MP told Tim Shipman of the Sunday Times that ‘the moment is coming when the knife gets heated, stuck in her front and twisted. She’ll be dead soon.’
