Plaid Cymru have elected Adam Price as their new leader after Leanne Wood was challenged by both him and the brilliantly named Run ap Iorwerth in July. Wood has been the party leader for six years and gained popularity at the time of the 2015 election in an impressive leaders debate performance, where she reminded everybody that Plaid Cymru actually existed. Since then, the party has been forgotten once again and their calls for Welsh independence have been dismissed. As they have been since whenever they came up with the idea. This may have made party members want a new leader to further their surely conclusive and inevitable cause.
